10th Anniversary

Jon and I have been talking about a 10th anniversary get-away for a while, and while we would both love to take a 7-10 day trip to Hawaii, it's just not in the budget since we're taking the girls to Disn.ey in December. And, we have to have my parents keep the girls, and with them working full time it just doesn't work for us to be gone for more than a weekend. So we've been looking for get-aways that wouldn't require airfare. We can't drop the girls off until 3:30 on Friday, so we don't want to spend a ton of time at an airport/on a plane.

This weekend we landed on The Vineyard at Florence, which is in the Texas Hill Country. I actually went to college not far from there, and I never knew it existed. We're very excited about getting away and it just being us for the weekend. Not that we don't love our girls, but it's always good to get away and focus on us for a while.

There's actually a wedding there that weekend, so all the suites were booked, but we are going to go with one of their regular rooms a little further out from the main building. We chose a package with massages, brunch, a private winery tour, and a few other romantic touches. We were assured that we wouldn't be bombarded or interrupted by the wedding at all. We shall see, but I think it will be a fun weekend. Can't wait!!! We'll actually get there on our anniversary...can't believe we'll be married 10 years on the 16th!
